Born in 1973 in Kolkata, West Bengal, he graduated from the Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. His first solo exhibition was at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata 1995. He has also had solo exhibitions at the Indian high commission in Bangladesh (1996) and at the Birla Akademi of Fine Arts, Kolkata, 1997. His group shows include exhibitions in Bangladesh, Nehru Center Mumbai, Vintage Gallery New Delhi, Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata and the Krishna Collection Art Gallery New Delhi. He was awarded first prize in the annual exhibition held at Govt. College of Art, Kolkata. He also received the Birla academy award for young artists in Kolkata and the young talent award from Lalit Kala Akademi, West Bengal.
