Deepa Nath, who began her journey as an artist two decades ago, continues to refine her vision further in this compelling new collection of work. Deepa's creative instinct is fed by the constant awareness of the paradoxical nature of life itself. This sense of joy underlying sorrow, and the sadness inherent in happiness informs her sensibility as an artist. Her subjects convey perhaps many a girl's loss of her own childhood in the face of prematurely shouldering adult cares. She felt a true reciprocity and connection to the girl child figure. Her honesty in finding her inner voice, and producing authentic meaningful visions of the world is what makes these paintings a joy to view.
