Ludmilla
Chakraborty was born in Russia. She began painting early,
but took it up seriously while she was working as a
lecturer of English at the University of Yver, Russia.
After a series of solo and group shows in Russia, she
held few shows in Delhi where she now lives with her
husband, an orthopedic surgeon.
Her
paintings are there in the Russian and Israeli Embassies
in Delhi and in private collections in Russia, U.S.A.,
Canada, England, Germany, Israel and other countries.
India's diverse culture, picturesque landscape
and vibrant colors are a big inspiration for her.
Most of her paintings have vibrant colours and shades. Ludmilla mostly uses oil and acrylics for her paintings. Her art include works of nature and portraits amongst others. Her paintings are executed in diversified medium that vivify new ideas. Ludmilla uses symbolic figures, which presents her idea in more precise manner and reveals different angles and levels of thinking. Philosophic and religious themes are always of great interest for her.
Speaking about her latest collection "Impression" Ludmilla says, "Impressions, They are so numerous, because of the abundance of life itself. Each side of life is a new page for the endless journal through its journey with lots of things to do, to say & to see, we often miss out on many of them. My present exhibition, called 'Impressions' is another attempt to reflect some of my impressions on canvas so that, fragile & evasive tho' they might seem, they could leave a mark on my memory of today".
Ludmilla further says, "I prefer vibrant paints and shades to celebrate the joy of color. They help me make the plot and idea of the painting more vivid & understandable. But if I want to present the idea of the painting in a more precise manner I use symbolic figures, which don't make my works less on the contrary they reveal different angles and levels of thinking. Philosophic and religious themes are always of great interest for me, as they never fail to offer "food" for reasoning, questioning, searching and thought for the one and only true answer. I am genuinely and wholeheartedly fond of painting, that is why the goal I have set for my exhibitions is to share my creative adventure with the viewer so that together, we could experience the everlasting bliss of artistic fulfillment".
