Subachan Yadav

PROFILE

Subachan Yadav is among a very few artists who work only in black and white as Rameshwar Broota . He has been selected 12 times for National Exhibition.

In the words of Mr Keshav Malik "S. Yadav is striking with his drawing methods - that of using snow flakes, as it were, on black surface to eke out fine contrasts of Black and White. The Spare Means employed to make for a greater impression". However, thematically, the less ostensible the representation, the better for us. As are numbers 15 and 16 both like whirl of flakes, no more. But, the couples in several of the figurations become banal. Far better is the cleft head in number 5. Clearly, abstraction is managed much better in what is really a work meant for reverie; the induction of sentiment, ironically, interjects no more than the prosaic Vein!"

He is truely, a critics' delight and a favourite among litteratuers like Namvar Singh, Rajendra Yadav, Kedar Nath and so on! 'Black' refers to an illusion on his canvas. An illusion that forces the onlooker to find out whether the images are carved against white or balck background?Balck refers to his amazing textures that renders the feel of a broken and smashed glass, or the soil that dries after water being poured on it, As if a scar is being left on the brown earth!

Black refers to 'Spray' effect in his creations of acrylic on canvas. It refers to his technique that flows from his pencil that gives the impressison of charcoal and brush! Black refers to his 'graphic-print' quality in his creations. And Black also refers to 'the Divine chanting OM' that he invariably ends up carving on his works!
