WORK PROFILE |
|
Post Modernism, controlled chaos, daring and a purpose made me a photographer/ sketch artist. Creating a life like representation with the help of a brush and presenting a three dimensional landscape on paper is a job that can be done by a photographer too. Not only this, it's a coincidence that the form can combine the colourful ensory and visual experience into one. (The sensory experience of sculpture and the sensory experience of painting).
While preparing a block sensory sensation is quite important but while painting equally important is the colour sensation which is extremely necessary to create a block and a resultant print. I prepare a liquid resin with the help of my hand or use a liquid mixture of copper and nitric acid in a zinc plate for my work. I use filer or Gaj as tools to prepare my blocks.
What is that power in a blank paper that gives us an opportunity to create whatever image we can think off. There is some power on this earth that manifests itself silently. Entire language and music as well as throbbing life are a creation of that silent creator. It's the same power that create vocal music and also creates the divine play of Shiv and Shakti. The unpredictability, lack of anchor the ups and downs of human existence give rise to many questions that bog us throughout our life.It seems that sometimes many things just fall off the wall into the abyss of mystery while at an other moment they present themselves in bright sparkling and well defined form.
Many short stories get together to form a novel. The cycle of life and death has brought me on a crossroads where I see that which is being revealed and the one that's being concealed. I ask myself what is the truth? - the revealed or the concealed. Spirit of body. Kabir says
Jug hatwara swad thug aaya veslai, Ram charan neeka gahi, bini jai janam humai
Human life and its strange ways, his control over nature and his inordinate functioning force me to ponder. I have tried to present to you my concerns, thoughts and forms with my lines and colours.
