'Dreams on Canvas' - Art Works by Ms. Ganga Somany

The auction featured photographs taken & autographed by Mr. Basant Kumar Birla & paintings by Mrs. Ganga Somany. Online bidding for the artworks was commenced on March 18, 2007 and closed at 12 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007. The paintings and photographs were available, to view and for a Silent Auction, on March 25, from 11 AM to 5 PM, at 26 Prithviraj Road, New Delhi. The auction was conducted by celebrity guest auctioneer Ms. Shereen Bhan at 8.15 PM, the same day.

The exhibition of photographs by Mr. B.K. Birla and art works by Ms. Ganga Somany was on view from March 26, 2007 to Monday, April 2, 2007 at PBC Art Gallery.

The sale proceeds from Mr. B. K. Birla's photos went to 'Save the Children' and Mrs. Ganga Somany's went to 'Ramakrishna Sarada Mission', Gangarampore. Both were tax exempt under 80G of the IT Act.The payment for the artworks was made directly in the name of the respective charities.
