Friends,
It's a pleasure to bring out this newsletter and share the eventful happenings at PBC™-STIP with you.
Through the last copule of years, we have become a business center that has the support of goverment and trust of discerning multinationals.
We are "A Company that has made customer care it's business". This is not just our business statement but something we abide by in spirit as well.
Credit goes to our team and our twenty eight ready to use facilities including Office Space, Conference, F&B, Travel & other services. Our new facilities for ConferenceSpa™ have been a huge success and utilized for video conferencing and training by corporate. They have taken full advantage of the certified mountain fresh indoor air quality in our facility.
PBC™-STIP is perhaps the only Business Center and Software Park with five international Certifications. These recognitions and Certifications are a boost to our effort and business. Viz. ISO 14001:2004 Certification for Environment Management System, ISO 9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management System, SA 8000:2001 Certification for International Standard for Social Accountability, OHSAS 18001:1999 for Health & Safety Management System & HACCP:2002 for Food Safety Management System. PBC™-STIP is also committed to UN Global Compact.
On the Centenary Celebrations of PHDCCI, PBC™-STIP was awarded the "Ethics in Good Business Award" which was another feather in our cap. On behalf of the PBC™-STIP team, I had received this award from H.E. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India, in December 2005.
In our constant endeavor to improve indoor quality, we have installed the 'energy wheel'. This enables us to economically pump 20-25 cfm of fresh air per person into the Software Park while maintaining the temperature and relative humidity as per ASHRAE Standards.
We have been able to save a significant amount of electricity within the building by replacing the traditional tube lights with energy efficient next generation tube lights & electronic chokes. We are installing motion censors in all toilets and passages to switch on lights, when in use only.
In the direction of Water Conversation we have installed waterless urinals. This helps us to save 1.5 liters of water that goes down the drain with each flush. Additionally, we have installed sensor taps to avoid any water wastage.
PBC™-STIP strongly believes in 3R formula "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" is personified in all actions. This helps us to maintain a healty ambience around our office space, mind, body and soul of our workforce.
We promote Nehru Place Greens - an NGO to create awareness about clean indoor air, how to establish a micro-climate using natural plants and converting food waste to vermin manure. Membership of Nehru Place Greens is open and to become a member you can download the form from our website www.pbcnet.com.
We are working towards the US GBC EB LEED certification as a Green building with Gold Rating this year. We have also registered ourselves at www.usgbc.org.
In our constant endeavor to enhance business experiences for our clients, increase our base and equity with organizations at the global platform, we have signed an MoU with FIZ Frankfurt Biotechnology Innovation Center. This equips us with a collaborative effort for business practices and exchange. The Ambassador of Germany, H. E. Heimo Richter was present at the signing ceremony in August 2005.
At the 31st Philippine Business Conference Expo, we represented India to discuss 'One Global Filipino Crossing Boundaries'. The speakers at the conference included H.E. Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo, President, Republic of the Philippines. I delievered an hour long keynote address and made an exhaustive powerpoint presentation on 'India's Role in Global Economy'. Philippines Chamber of Commerce and industry headed by its President, Ambassador Donald Dee organized the conference, held at the Manila Hotel in October 2005.
In January 2006, I attended a two and a half day workshop on, 'The preferred future of Delhi in 2010'. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, senior bureaucrats, NGO's, RWA's, politicians, students and business people attended the workshop. It was a very interesting and a useful exercise. There was an unanimous agreement between all attendees on the importance of cleaning the Yamuna, to provide for 24 X 7 water electricity and safety for women besides making Delhi a Green and Clean city by 2010.
In Feburary I attended a workshop, 'Appraisal of Power Sector Reforms in Delhi' and made a presentation on ideas to stop theft of electricity in Delhi, which is currently more than 50%.
