Indoor Air Quality

Care for environment has been intrinsic to PBC's approach to business since its inception. The Nehru Place Greens initiative has been one bold step in this direction. Taking ecological well being to a step further, we follow 3 R's approach, "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle". This helps maintain healthy office space and rejuvenates mind, body and soul of the building occupants.

Paharpur Business Centre puts emphasis on environment policy, especially towards Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). We have a fully equipped business division, "CleanAir", that monitors and maintains the IAQ of the facility aligning to ASHRAE standards for enhanced working environment.

We use technology initially developed by NASA scientists to purify indoor air. The ambient air is washed, filtered and further purified through selected natural plants. Some of these plants are Areca Palm, Mother-in-law's Tongue and Money plant. The process starts with cleansing the air by passing through water tank that dissolves soluble pollutants, then it is passed through ultraviolet light that kills the bacteria content. The clean air is then flown over the plants in the greenhouse on the rooftop of our building. This air is then pumped into the building as a result level of CO2 and other air pollutants are comparatively low throughout the day.

According to a study conducted by Central Pollution Control Board (www.cpcb.nic.in), compared to other buildings in the city, incidence of eye irritation was reduced by 52%, respiratory symptoms down by 34%, headaches by 24%, lung impairment by 12%, and asthma by 9% at Paharpur Business Centre. In fact, Government of India rates our facility as one of the healthiest building in Delhi.
